I used to be a contractor at the Hewlett-Packard company in the late 1990s, before the merger with Compaq, and when David Packard was still alive. I based much of my own company’s culture on “The HP Way” and Lamborghini’s company culture in the 1960s.
My first language was German, and I was raised German. My family has always been into German cars, with a heavy focus on Audis, starting back in the early 1980s. However, I recall reading about Audi technology even back when I was a teenager, devouring German-language technical magazines.
A few years ago, for my mom’s birthday, I bought her a 2000 Audi C5 A6 Quattro 4.2 V8, and the more I learned about the car, the more I liked it. I also bought one for myself, and then another, and another … and now I own half a dozen of them.
I already owned BMW used car parts company, that I’d started in 2003, focused on 1980s BMWs. It was named OCLES, Inc. which is an acronym for Old Car Life Extension Systems (as in, keep ‘em on the road).
After becoming enamored with the A6, I extended my business to cover the Audi C5 A6 models too, so I founded C5A6parts.com …
We have been immersed in understanding the ZF 5HP-24A transmissions in the V8 models.since these transmissions are known to fail on these cars. We learned what fails, and how, and why, and how to fix failed transmissions and (better yet) how to prevent the most typical failures. Although the transmissions are a popular item, we offer a great many used parts for sale for the C5 A6 cars — and not just the V8 models, though they have historically been our focus. We also like the 2.7 V6 biturbo, and we respect the other models too.
If, like me, you like the relative simplicity, performance and looks of the C5 A6 Audi, you’ll want to keep your classic C5 A6 reliable, fun and safe as long as you viably can.
I intend for my company to make your mission more viable.
